Member of the UK’s Society of Authors

He traced his ancestry back to the Scottish clan of Forbes that includes Bermuda's first known university-qualified medical Doctor George Forbes (1710-1778) whose name and achievements are shown on a plaque in Bermuda's historic St. Peter's Church. His children included Sir Francis Forbes (1784-1841), the boy from Bermuda who became Chief Justice first of Newfoundland and later of New South Wales in Australia.
